Fei and Leon contacted me soon after getting engaged with a vision of bringing together Leon's family from the UK and Fei's family from Chile for a late-summer wedding in London. Being based in Singapore themselves, we planned most of the wedding virtually, and landed on a central London venue to make getting there as seamless as possible for the many guests who were travelling from overseas. Kimpton Fitzroy ticked all the boxes - offering all of the luxuries of a city-chic hotel, whilst being enough of a blank canvas to suffuse Fei and Leon's style into it.
We centred their design around the idea of "bringing the outside in", combining abundant greenery and classic white florals with the glamour and sophistication of the Kimpton Fitzroy interior. We used potted birch trees to add height and dimension to the Ballroom, whilst gold accents gave a soft and romantic feel, mirroring the golden ceiling mouldings in the Ballroom. After their emotion-filled ceremony, guests made their way to the bright and airy Palm Court, where a jazz band entertained guests whilst the cocktails flowed. For the evening, we transformed the Ballroom into a candlelit dining space, with personal touches such as bilingual English/Spanish menus and video messages from family members that were unable to travel over for the day.
Fei looked sensational in a bespoke gown by Chilean designer Javiera Jordán, before changing into a show-stopping mini dress for the first dance. Their live band kept the dance floor filled all evening, playing a mix of both English and Latin-American music to entertain all of their guests.
